Francis Ferdinand assassination
Francis Ferdinand was an Archduke of Austria and Royal prince of Hungary and of Bohemia. Francis was visiting Bosnia, for his uncle the emperor Franz Joseph and to attend an official reception at city hall hosted by the mayor of Sarajevo. On a Sarajevo Street many attempts to assassinate the Archduke by a couple of conspirators were attemped, then the Archduke was shot by two bullets by the conspirators -
Austria declared war on Serbia
On this date, one month to the day after Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his fellow wife at the time was killed by the a Serbian. Because of this Austria decared war on Serbia, in which begining the first World War. This image primary source was significant which represented the value of the Austians. -

Thsi battle was known as the most greatst and largest battle in worlds history. Neaver before has there been such a lengthy battle with so many men involved on such little land. The Battle of Somme was one of the battles in WW1, which was fought by the British and French empires aganist the Germans. For some this battle symbolised the horror of warfare in WW1.
