  • Nationalism

    Nationalism
Nationalism is a radical form of patriotism and loyalty to one’s home country. Nationalism places the interests of one over the interests of all. Nationalism makes people extremely confident in their nation and it also makes people think other nations are inferior. Nationalism gave people the idea that a war in Europe was necessary and very winnable. The Great European Powers reveled in their strengths and this was a major cause of WW1. http://alphahistory.com/worldwar1/nationalism/
  • Murder of the Archduke

    Murder of the Archduke
Back in June of 1914, the archduke Francis Ferdinand was traveling in Bosnia, in order to try to unify the land between Bosnia and Serbia. However on June 28, 1914, the archduke and his wife were traveling Sarajevo when a member of the Black Hand murdered both him and his wife. This single event created a domino effect that would later create World War 1, such as Germany declaring war on Bosnia, Russia declaring war on Germany and Serbia and all of the other events that happened afterword.
