Germany decided that the surrounding water by Britain will become a war zone, they would stop any ships that brought supplies for Great Britain. The Lusitania was a ship with passengers traveling to the other side but it was sunk by a u-boat from Germany. There were some Americans on the ship and this cause ruckus in the US. -

Wilson was going against Hughes, and he was going for his 2nd term. Wilson won by his talked about "New Freedom" and the citizens chose him because he kept them out of war, while on the other hand Hughes was against it. This made citizens secured that they would't enter the war. -

The Zimmerman Note was for Mexico by the Germany secretary, Arthur Zimmermann. It was about if the US enter the war, Germany will have an alliance with Mexico and will helped them during the war. British men got the hold of this and encrypted the message then gave the letter to the US in late of February. On March 1st, it was spread all over the newspaper. -

On this day, Wilson asked Congress to declare war on Germany. The reason why he asked this was to make the world safe for democracy. This led, in a few days, Us entering the war. -
(US) The United States Declares War/ Congress Votes to Declare War
After President Wilson asked Congress to declare war against Germany, they took a few days to decide. On April 6, Congress allow this order, now the United States was against Germany. The United States was allied with the Triple Entente. -

The Selective Service Act gave power to the president to draft soldiers into the army. This lead to having more solider available for the war and more people fighting for their country. -

The Espionage Act was for any people that wanted to interfere within the War. It was now illegal for them to do that, if they violate this they will have a fine of $10,000 and up to 20 years in jail. This mainly go for german since there are people that lived in the US. This lead people to be arrested from their acts. -
Spanish Influenza (1918)
The Spanish Influenza was a very deadly flu that infected around 500 million people. It first started to be seen in Europe, United States and then spreading around the world. The flu was a virus that attack the respiratory system and can become contagious. There were no vaccines to kill the virus, leading to millions of people dying. -

This battle was the first major American offensive for World War One. Within this battle the Americans were able to attack the Germans with a large scale. -
(US) (EU) Armistice (1918)
On November 11, 1918, was the end of the World War One, it was ended by an agreement for both sides to stope fighting and be in peace. The leaders of the countries couldn't keep Germany without any consequences, Germany tried to get away from the consequences but in the end, they accepted it.
