Beginning Of WW1
On August 4, 1914 Germany’s army invades Belgium. Starting the great war of WW1. This event would start a 4 year war. This war would tear allies apart and build new ones. -
Germans Fire
The German army filled shells with Chlorine Gas. This was the first time deadly gas had been used in battle. The gas nearly collapsed the whole French line. -
Lusitania Sinks
The German submarine sunk the passenger ship the Lusitania. The ship was carrying 1,198 humans. With 128 of those passengers being Americans. This event is what sparked the U.S discussion of entering the war. -
Germany Limits Submarines
The outrage the world had about the sinking of the Lusitania put a suspends unrestricted submarine warfare. This attempt tried to keep the U.S out of the war. They used submarines to put a stop to the Americans supplying the French and Britain's. -
Night Of Firing- Veteran
Theodore Edward Beach had got woken up on this night to fire nine rounds at a German Troop. The lieutenant had told them to go back to bed but to be ready as more would be coming. Lucky for them none came. As they were up till 3 am waiting for more to come. -

The Germans planned to resume there submarine warfare. This act would start to draw the U.S into the war. And causing the eventual defeat of Germany. -
Zimmerman Telegram
The British give the U.S the Zimmerman telegram, that was a message to Mexico to start a side war against them in return the Germany would get them Texas, Arizona and other regions they had lost in a previous war. -
Getting On Board- Veteran
Veteran Theodore Edward Beach left Camp Merritt in New Jersey. He went to the dock of Hobo-ken. Where he then boarded the Leviathan ship. -
U.S Enters the War
On April 6, 1917 congress and the U.S declare that they will be entering the war. The U.S entered the war on France and Britain's side. The U.S always had the intent to enter the war. However, they needed the peoples agreement first. -
Selective Service Act
The U.S creates the Draft as way to get people to join the army. The U.S at the time was at a low on the number of soldiers they had. They created the draft to insure they had enough to win the war. -
Bombing On Labor Day- Veteran
On Labor Day Theodore and the rest of the soldiers woke up to a unpleasant sound. The sound of two bombs hitting there base. No one was hurt he said. However damage was done to the East side of the base. -
Pushing the Front Line- Veteran
"Still in the same place hammering the line" British and French pushing the lines and the boarders. They were pushing Boche back that they were nearly to their own boarder. -
Germany and Russia peace
Germany signed a peace treaty with the new Bolshevik government of Russia. This peace treaty gave Germany large areas of land that once were own by Poland and the Ukraine.
