    Maya Empire (classic period)

    They took place in Southern Mexico. They ended up learning hieroglyphics and the system of olmecs.

    Gupta Empire

  • Period: 500 to 1453

    Byzantine Empire

    The Byzantine empire took place in Europe, Asia and Africa. There was a riot in Constantinople and people were destroying everything; so finally once the fighting stopped, they ended up building the city better than it looked before.
  • Period: 500 to 899

    Japan

    (it said on tci 6th century to 9th) Japan empire was on the eastern coast of the asian mainland. Japan borrowed the knowledge of bronze casting and ironworks to Japan.
  • Period: 500 to 1200

    Ghana

    it was in the semidesert sahel and slowly spread out through the valleys between the Senegal and Niger river. they were named the land of gold and they had a strong government. (they also had a trans-saharan trade)

    Imperial China

    The Tang took place in the South, and took back China and when they got into power they were building off Sui Dynasty, they increased the Tang influence over many different areas.

    Mali Empire

    Their home land was South of Kumbi, and just like Ghana (aka what they took over) they had a lot of trading going on that made them wealthy. In the end Muslim faith became more influential in West Africa.

    Songhai Empire

  • Period: 1400 to 1532

    Inca Empire

    Andes Mountains of South America/ spread out from North to South of South America. They were known to have built huge empires, with the influence of the Moches and Chimus people.
  • Period: 1428 to 1519

    Aztec Empire

    They took place in Central Mexico, and they had a pyramid called "pyramid of the sun" and it was over 200 feet high.
