    Accomplishment: They gained wealth and power by controlling the god trade. In addition, power was handed down matrilineally.

    Location: India
    Accomplishment: They had the ability to do highly intensive surgeries like removing a limb and even removing tumors.

    Byzantine Empire

    Location: Areas around the Mediterranean Sea
    Accomplishment: They became wealthy very quick due to crossroad trading. This made them one of the most rich and elegant cities at the time. Also, their high level of literature made them more prestigious than other cities.

    Accomplishment: The developed many, many, different things. For example, they developed gunpowder, rockets, paper, printing, and many different kinds of medicines.

    Location: Middle East Asia, Central Asia, and Western Asia
    Accomplishment: developed Arabic Numerals, which is the numbering system that we use nowadays.

    Accomplishment: They developed different forms of literacy like tankas. They also blended Chinese characters with theirs and made the Japanese language/characters.

    Accomplishment: They gained power fast through social power, political power, and economical power. Also, they built a good feudal system.

    Accomplishment: They used quipus instead of a written language. The quipus are ropes with knots in them that pass a message.

    Accomplishment: The Hajj of Mansa Musa brought attention to Mali from Europe.

    Aztec

    Location: Northern Mexico
    Accomplishment: They built their capital in the middle of a lake on an island using a system of logs and natural resources to expand their area on the water.

    Location: Africa
    Accomplishment: Songhai leader Sunni Ali built an army to defeat and take power from Mali in 1406.
