    The Columbian Exchange is the transfer of goods, diseases, and ideas from Europe to the Americas. It was started by Christopher Columbus when he found valuable goods in America. It was not always an even trade, especially with the diseases, but it shaped our world today.

    Pope Julius II was like many other popes in this time where he was very involved in politics. He was also referred to as a "warrior pope" due to the fact that he lead his armies into war. He was also in a time where the higher people were in the church the wealthier they became. This is one of many reason that lead to a reformation.

    Henry VIII was not a very good ruler. He wanted a son, but kept having daughters. This made him believe that is was his wives faults and would kill or divorce them. This was against the Church, so he decided it would be easier to just start his own new religion. And he did just that.

    95 thesis published
    The criticisms for the church written by Martin Luther. The invention of the printing press made the spread possible. The main ideas were a call to reform due to the practice of indulgences and political corruption in the church. It was first posted on the door of the Wittenberg Cathedral.

    Martin Luther
    Martin Luther was part of the Catholic Church but had some problems with it. He was not happy with the practice of indulgences and the corruption of high officials. This caused him to write the 95 these asking for reform. When it didn't happen he created his own Church based on the idea of "salvation through faith".

    Middle Passage
    The Middle Passage is not a fun thing to look back on today. The Middle Passage was a way for slaves and other goods to be transferred out of Africa and to the New World. The conditions were cramped and poor. This caused many to die on the journey and many other people died when they arrived due to diseases.

    The end of the Aztecs was due to many reasons. The main reasons were the diseases that were brought by the Old World and the Spanish conquest. Due to the lack of communication and ideas the Spanish killed many people and they inslaved others.

    The war started with the invasion of the Netherlands by Spain. This caused England to support the Netherlands because they had very similar religious beliefs. Spain eventually sent their navy to England and was unsuccessful. Leaving them much weaker in the end.

    There were many negative effects of the slave trade like depopulation of western Africa, increased warfare, destruction of cultures, and belief in white superiority. The slave trade ended at different times in different places. The world can see the bad now, but wasn't seen then.

    The end of the Incas was very similar to the end of the Aztecs. They were killed by diseases and conquistadors, and they were also enslaved. Leading to the end of the entire Inca population.

    This was another war that was based on religion. It was between Huguenots and Ultra-Catholics. It lead to the Edict of Nantes and the legalization of protestant worship.

    China was later to trade or discover the west because of their policies. They saw the West as barbarians or their little brothers. There was a start in limited trade due to the fact that had the best things, but then later started the trade for opium.

    Tokugawa leyasu was started by the Tokugawa family as a way to rule. This was a very critical time because it reunified Japan after years of unrest, was when they had their first contact with the West, brokedown Feudalism, and an important time period in Japanese art. Throught the death of leaders and takeover the reign came to an end.

    This was similar to many other things in other Dynasties, but also different cultures leading to changes. This is when we can see the shape of current China for the first time. Did not last very ling once they lost their leader.

    There were many reasons for the decline of the Ming Dynasty. Some of them were the corruption that led to revolts with the government, a decline in trade, tribal attacks from the north, peasant rebellion that led to the fall of the Ming, and the Manchus took Beijing from the rebels and created a new dynasty.

    The Bill firmly established the principles of frequent parliaments, free elections and freedom of speech within Parliament. Today it is know as Parliamentary Privilege. The bill was common sense but needed because it helped to say that everyone has a right to life, equality and human dignity.

    The Toleration Act was in order to grant freedom of worship to Nonconformists. This allowed people to be in many different religions and they could worship in the way that they want to. This also did not include Roman Catholics, Jews, Atheists, and a few others.
  • Louis XVI Rule

    Louis XVI approved French military support for the American colonies in their successful struggle against the British. This was not a great idea in the end because the expense nearly bankrupted the country. Louis XVI eventually fell to the rebellion and did not plead his allegiance to the new rebellion. This caused him to be put to death by guillotine.

    First Republic
    The First Republic lasted until the declaration of the First Empire on 18 May 1804 under Napoleon. Although the form of the government changed several times it was made because of the need of money. It stood for many years and helped the government overcome the large money they lost under former leaders.
  • Napoleon Rule

    Napoleon Rule
    Napoleon rose to power through the Revolutionary Military. He became Emporer in 1804 and promised to take up the ideas from the revolution. He did not follow through on this promise and actually did the opposite. Napolean used the revolution army to take over Europe. He was later kicked out for a year and took over again until he was finally defeated for good.
