Doolittle Raid
On April 18, 1942, 16 B-25' took off from carriers off the coast of Japan to bomb Tokyo. As soon as the planes launched, the carriers returned back to the US. As a result, Imperial Japan pulled massive amounts of troops and machinery back to Japan, weakening Japanese offensive ability in the Pacific. -

The US and Imperial Japan clash in a massive naval and land battle at the Midway islands. Here the Japanese loses a massive amount of naval strength. After this battle, Japan will not gain anymore ground in the Pacific Theatre. -

Adolf Hitler has pushed deep into Russia and decides to launch an attack on the Soviet city of Stalingrad instead of push to Moscow. After a long bloody battle lasting months, Soviet forces trap the German army. The Germans lose a massive amount of troops in this fight and will never make progress again in the East. -

Allied forces land on Normandy beach after an incredibly rough fight, German forces retreat deeper into France. -
