Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany
After many months of climbing the latter Hitler had been pushing his way into the top tier of the German government. He did this by lots of propaganda and speeches. From then, he began to break the rules of the Treaty of Versailles and started to build up Germany's military. Also, he was giving the people jobs and promises so they would be on his side. This is an example of one of the advantages of war because they got a head start in making weapons and war materials. -
Leadership Roles
Between the two sides of the war the allied powers had more countries on their side. Therefore, there was a better thought process and ideas put out to attack the opposing sides. Also, the Allied powers had better leaders and they knew what they were doing. Lastly,the Allied powers had a better mindset than the Axis powers and weren't crazy about war and the thought of taking over countries in a ruthless way. -
Battle of Britain
The Battle of Britain was a very important battle during World War 2. Germany and Hitler have already conquered most of Europe and there last country to invade was Britain. In order to do this, they had to take down Britain's very powerful Royal Air Force. To do so, Germany bombed Britain to destroy their Royal Air Force. Despite all of the bombings that were sent to Britain from Germany, Britain never stopped fighting back -
Tripartite Pact
Germany, Italy, and Japan all signed an agreement to form an alliance called the Axis powers. This pact allowed them to provide assistance and aid to any country that was under attack or in danger. -

The other group of WW2 was called the Allied powers. It consisted of Britain, France, Russia, and the United States. -
Axis Powers Strategy
The Axis powers wanted to defeat the Soviet Union quickly to gain control over the oil fields and to force Britain out of the war. In Asia Japan wanted to take control over the Pacific and invaded places like Philippines and Indonesia. Following the Pearl Harbor attack, Japan was hoping to receive dominance over the United States, but they returned with a costly war to attack back at Japan. -
Allied Powers Strategy
All of the leaders of the Allied Powers came together to come up with a plan. They wanted to be offensive and to attack Germany by taking Japan, also to England from being invaded by Germany. At the beginning of the war the US was giving war supplies to the Soviet Union and to Britain. This wasn't enough to win the war. Advanced Technology of the War
During World War 2 new technology was being created to give a country an advantage against one another. An example of this is aircraft's. If a country had control of the air they also had control of the land . These planes could fight in air-to-air combat or could drop huge bombs on enemy targets. Also tanks were a huge effect on the war. Germany utilized tanks to quickly take over most of Europe, called Blitzkrieg. Even though tanks were used in World War 1, they became a major military force. -
Advantage of Machinery
President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the United States began to begin production of war materials. This was a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan, whom is apart of the Axis Powers. This was an advantage because the US had a good production rate in making war materials. However, there was a disadvantage which was the fact that they weren't ready because of World War 1 that happened earlier. -
D-Day: The Invasion of Normandy
The Allied powers were attack by Germany on the coast of Normandy, France. With over 150,000 soldiers the Allies was able to win the war. This war was a major turning point in the war. That day the weather was very bad, which made Germany less prepared because they thought there wouldn't be any attacks on them. This war was considered the largest land-sea-air operation in army history. -
The Axis Final Attempt - Battle of the Bulge
This was another major battle during World War 2. This is Germany's last attempt at pushing the Allies away from Europe. At first, Germany's plan was going good, but because of the fierce and strong American soldiers they held their ground, making sure Germany does not advance. A huge disadvantage of Germany is because they were out of fuel and didn't have any for their tanks. This is why Germany wanted to invade the Soviet Union because they had oil pumps. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
After the bombing on Pearl Harbor by Japan, the United States retaliated with their own weapon. A new technology was made used by the US, which was the Atomic Bomb. It was dropped in Hiroshima, Japan. It killed many people and destroying industrial cities. This was part of the end of the war that made Japan in lots of debt. -
VE-Day
This was the official day Germany surrendered to the Allied powers. It was also called Victory in Europe Day. After this, Hitler had shot himself and his wife swallowed poison. Allied troops pressed eastward into the German heartland, while Soviet army pushes westward across Poland. There goal was to get Berlin. They entered Berlin in April 25, 1945
