Elected President
In the Presidential Election of 1912, Wilson runs as the Democratic candidate and defeats William Howard Taft (Republican), Theodore Roosevelt (Progressive), and Eugene Debs (Socialist). Wilson’s vice president is Thomas Marshall. The Triple Entente and Triple Alliance have already been formed and Europe's super powers are advancing towards war. -

Franz Ferdinand is assassinated. This pushes the Triple Alliance closer and closer to the brink. Wislons wife also dies of Kidney disease during this year. -

Wilson is remarried in 1916, the same year that he is elected back into presidential office. He desperitly tries to keep America out of foreign affairs, despite the Lucitania having been sunk. A war is still being waged in Mexico, be it on a smaller scale. -
Wilson Declares War
Woodrow Wilson has long tried to keep America out of the European affairs, but when the Zimmerman telegram is intercepted in 1917, he reaches the tipping point. In combination with unrestricted german U-boat and submarine warfare, the Zimmerman telegram drives Wilson to declare war on Germany. -
Peace
Wilson proposes his 14 points, in which no one side would be infairly or extremely puinished. America joining the war has been the turning point, and it becomes obvious to the germans that tbey are not going to win. An Armistice is signed, but there is killing up to the last minute of fighting.
