Women and Voting
Colorado is the first state to grant women the right to vote on political issues. Utah and Idaho followed in 1896, Washington State, California, Oregan, Kansas, and Arizona. After those states, Alaska, Illinois, Montana, and Nevada. New York Michigan, South Dakota, and Oklahoma followed later on. -
National Association of Colored Women
The National Association of Colored Women is formed. They helped to create over 100 black women clubs. -
Garment Strike
Women in New York went on strike from work until their work environment was made safer and healthier for them to work in. -
