Women Get to Vote in Certain States
This is a huge moment in women's rights history! From 1869 to 1914 states have been allowing women to vote! These states are: Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, California, Arizona, Kansas, Oregon, Illinois, and Montana. Huge improvements made by the NAWSA. -
The election of 1912
The election of 1912 was a make or break moment for women, Theodore Roosevelt ran for the progressive part of the election, as he was for women's rights, and Woodrow Wilson wasn't, so as the women held their breath to see what would happen Wilson won, crushing all of their dreams, and they had to fight even harder. -
Women's Rights Parade Backfires
Women from every state came together to parade for their rights, this outraged the men, as they came to the parade site and brutalized the women, this was an outrage, as the NAWSA was nervous that all of their progress would backfire and everything will go back the way it was before, with women not being able to vote. This made women try even harder for rights as this was a key moment in the way for women to get rights. -
The CU Forms
The Congressional Union formed in 1914 where they took women suffrage rights to a whole different level, they were dead set on getting women suffrage rights and they started it with conventions all around the United States -
CU Makes Its First Impact On Women Suffrage
In late June of 1916 the CU sponsored a convention that made the NWP, a CU member and a Washington lobbyist became the first chairmen, and the CU took over states where women couldn't vote and the NWP did the same to states where women couldn't vote. -

Women Risk Freedom For Suffrage
In 1917 women started to be arrested for their protesting, women were sentenced to sentences that were years, and they had horrible conditions, women were beaten, force-fed, women risked health, jobs, and reputations all for suffrage, which shows how much they want suffrage.
