Executive Order 11375 expands President Lyndon Johnson's affirmative action policy of 1965 to cover discrimination based on gender. -

Women fought for their rights not to symbolize “beauty objects” or “sex objects.” In 1968, 100 women protested the Miss America Beauty Pageant because it promoted “physical attractiveness and charm as the primary measures of a woman’s worth,” The term "bra burner" became popular after a bunch of women burned their bras. -

In 1972 this law was passed by President Nixon. This law was passed so all sex's would have equal particiaption rights in schools. -
EEOC
The EEOC rules that sex-segregated help wanted ads in newspapers are illegal. This ruling is upheld in 1973 by the Supreme Court, opening the way for women to apply for higher-paying jobs hitherto open only to men. -

At the end of this supreme court case it was decided that women have the right to safe and legal abortion. -

States across America are starting to get rid of the right to have an abortion. Two states which are West Virginia and Wisconsin do not allow women to get an abortion when they are 20 weeks pregnant. -

Wages are still an issue between men and women. Women in the U.S. who work year round are typically paid only 78 cents for every dollar paid to their male co workers.
