Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott were not allowed to speak during a debate about slave's rights because they were women. -
Seneca Falls Convention
Around 300 people, consisting of mostly females, but some males, came to Senca Falls, New York to talk about the injustices of women. They also talked about the rights that men have, but not women. -
14th and 15th Amendment Ratified
The fourteenth and fifteenth amendments were ratified giving all black citizens the right to vote and given certain rights. Women were still not allowed to vote yet. -
The National American Women Suffrage Association
The National American Women Suffrage Association was formed and are continuing to fight for women's rights. -
World War I starts
World War I starts and the importance of women grew. As men went to serve in the army, women took the jobs that they left and worked diligently. -
19th Amendment was ratified
The 19th Amendment was ratified which guarenteed women the right to vote.
