    "Flapper" gets known
    The world flapper finally was published and given a definition, the Atlantic Monthy was the magazine that published it. The magazine clarified how the girls acted danced and moved. It was the first magazine to riskily wrote about the characterization of flapper girls.

    During the Great Depression, dance marathons started to become more popular. It started because Alma Cummings danced for 27 hours with 6 different partners. This became very popular for women and men as it was like a stress relief during the Great Depression.

    The Charleston became a very popular in 1923. It was danced to a ragtime jazz music in a quick paced 4/4 time rhythm, and the dance quickly became a craze around the world. The dance was made by James P Jonson and was danced by young women in flappers.

    Flagpole sitting became very popular when Alvin "Shipreck" Kelly sat on a flagpole for 13 hours and 13 minutes. This then became a fad, as many people started to do it. Many people did this to get extra money.
