Prologue - The Beginning
future chapter title:[Or] You Shall Die
A mermaid (Aria's true mother) comes to the shore during the dead of night. In her arms, she carries a child, her child, but the child has legs, not a tail. She leaves the child on the shore and swims away with tears in her eyes, and she looks back one final time, before disappearing completely. Once the mermaid has disappeared, the child begins to cry. A couple that live in a house close 2 the shore hear her, find her, & decide 2 raise her as their own -
Chapter 1 - Deep Longing
Aria is now 16. She describes how she watches the waves how she has dreams that she knows involve the ocean, but can't remember anything else about them, how she longs for her feet to feel the water, how her entire being does. etcetera. She is writing all of this in her journal/diary. -
Chapter 2 - Ocean Dreaming
This chap is of Arias dream & her waking up.
In the dream, Arias underwater & sees what looks like a person but she cant tell more than that as what she sees is vry blurry.Then the person swims closer & Aria can see top half of a woman. She doesnt look like anyone Aria has ever seen. She wears shells around her neck & shells + pearls as a crown.The woman looks similar 2 Aria & older. Aria wants 2 call out 2 the woman but cant.person comes closer&Aria sees that she has a tail not legs & wakes up. -
Chapter 3 - Torment
Future chapter title: Bullies, Again
It is the next day, and Aria is about to write in her journal, but before she is able to start, three boys startle her. They're not just any boys, but Adam, Dylan, and Elliot. These boys torment her all the time, and they torment and bully her in this chapter, even going as far to throw rocks at her. She dodges some of them. She ends up fleeing back to her home, bruised fairly badly from the rocks that she didn't dodge. -
Chapter 4 - Rocked,Bruised, and Wounded
At home, Aria's mother is tending to her wounds. Some of the rocks that the boys threw cut her with their jagged edges. Aria questions her mother on why she is treated so differently, not knowing anything of her true origins. Her mother, later that night, is talking to her father, and they decide together to tell Aria about the night they found her. Chapter ends before they tell her, though -
Chapter 5 - True Origins
The next day, Aria's parents reveal to her that they aren't actually her parents, they tell her what they know of her true origins. She was found in shallow area of ocean 16yrs ago. When they found her there was note that must've been protected 4 no harm had come 2 it, despite water & years that shouldve caused damage. it says that if she ever returns to the ocean, shell die, & her mother truly loves her, as does her father. She thinks there's no more 2 the note, but She doesnt look on the back.
