The first version of windows. Was well received by the public but technical parameters are left to be desired.

Windows 2.0x

Period: Nov 1, 1987 to Dec 31, 2001

The second version of windows. Has the same apps but with improvements and support VGA.

Windows 2.1x

Period: Nov 1, 1987 to Dec 31, 2001

This version has small changes of memory management and improvement typing system.

Windows 3.0x

Period: May 22, 1990 to Dec 31, 2001

The third version. Has a lot of improvement user interface.

Windows 3.1x

Period: Mar 18, 1992 to Dec 31, 2001

That advanced version has included the font system, that innovation makes windows a serious platform for computer layout and also firstly add a browser like a system program.

Windows 95

Period: Aug 24, 1995 to Dec 31, 2001

This version is intended for home using and innovation in the interface was actively used in all subsequent versions of windows.

Windows 98

Period: Jul 29, 1998 to Jul 11, 2006

AGP support has been improved, USB drivers have been finished, added support for working with multiple monitors.

Windows 2000

Period: Apr 29, 2000 to Jul 13, 2010

The first version that releases in several editions: Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server.

Windows Millennium Edition

Period: Sep 14, 2000 to Jul 11, 2006

Minimum of innovations, one of them is blocking of MS-DOS mode, whereby the loading of the system was greatly faster.

Windows XP

Period: Oct 25, 2001 to Apr 8, 2014

Releases with a lot of different versions, a lot of innovations, and improvements. It is considered one of the best products of windows.

Windows Vista

Period: Jan 30, 2007 to Apr 11, 2017

Had some corrections for the worse, for example, some actions that on the XP version were made instantly made on Vista with delay, system requirements in the opinion of many people was overstated, etc.

Windows 7

Period: Oct 22, 2010 to Jan 10, 2023

Had improvements in security, new Aero functions, new styles, and many other little improvements that made Windows 7 much better in the comparison with Vista.

Windows 8

Period: Aug 25, 2012 to Jan 12, 2016

Didn't get popular and was evaluated by analysts as a failureю

Windows 8.1

Period: Oct 17, 2013 to Jan 10, 2023

had a lot of little improvements and updates. As a windows 8 it is focused on sensory PC.

Windows 10

Period: Aug 29, 2015 to Jan 9, 2029

The system is designed to become unified for different devices, such as personal computers, tablets, smartphones, Xbox One consoles, etc.

Windows 11

Period: Oct 5, 2021 to Dec 31, 2040

Unreleased version. Microsoft said it would be the "latest version of Windows" It was assumed that the OS would be transferred to the "Windows as a service" scheme, and over time, new builds and updates would have to be released, not new versions.
