It was fought from 1754-1763, and is also known as the 7 year war. the english was concerned about french forts being built by the ohio river. george washington lead a small force into ohio. they were defeated, but when he returned he was a hero for leading the first battle of the war. the british send general braddock to drive the french out of the ohio valley but he was killed. the war officially started after.
