Return to London

Creative activity
SousceIn 1592 Shakespeare issues his poem “Venus and Adonis” under his own name for the first time. The poem had great success and was published 8 times during his life.
In 1594 Shakespeare’s first tragedy in the “bloody tragedy” style of that time “Titus Andronicus” without the writer’s name on the cover.
The tragedy “Romeo and Juliet” was written, then the first comedy “The Merchant of Venice”, which was called “serious” afterwards. -
Creation of new theater "Globus"
SourceBurbage Brothers dismantled the old theatre – the building in the north of London where Shakespeare’s group acted and built the theatre “Globe” on the southern bank of the Thames. In Southwark Shakespeare became one of the shareholders of the new theatre.
In 1599, a partnership of company members built their own theatre on the south bank of the River Thames, which they called the Globe. -
Death of queen Elizabeth

Shakespeare's death

The first edition of Shakespeare's works
