William Golding was raised in a 14th-century house next door to a graveyard. Williams father was a schoolmaster, along with his mother who was an activist for women's rights (suffragette). -

William Golding graduated college in 1934 then went on to be a teacher in 1935 -

William Golding took part in the royal navy and served in 1940 -
Lord of the Flies
Then, in 1954 William Golding published an icon book known as The Lord of the flies. -
Retired From teaching
In 1963 William Golding retired from being a teacher and went on to make a film of The Lord Of the Flies -
After The Fame
After publishing Lord of the flies in 1954, William then went on to publish many more novels, and even received a nobel prize in 1983 for his novel Lord of the Flies. -
Knighted
In 1988 William was Knighted by Queen Elizabeth as a result for his "contributions to literature" -
Death
William Golding then lived a peaceful life then died at 81 years old (1993) he had 2 kids and a loving wife. William sadly died from a heart attack and a novel he was working on was published posthumously.
