William Golding was born in Cornwall, England. During the british suffragette movement. -
Education
Golding started attending Brasenose College at Oxford.He started with two years of studying science, then the third year he switched to the literature program doing what he acually wanted. He wanted to write poetry. -
First Work
One year before william graduated he published his first work, a book of poetry aptly entitled Poems. His work was overlooked by critics. -

He graduated from Oxford with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a diploma in education. -
Career
Wiliam Golding began teaching English and Philosophy in Salisbury at Bishop Wordsworth's School. While teaching William taught unruly young boys, this will later serve as inspiration for his novel "Lord of the Flies". -
Taking a Break
William Golding temporarily stoped he's teaching to join the Royal Navy and fight in World War II. -
