    U.S. Commission on Fish and Fisheries is Created
    This is created by Congress. They are charged providing solutions to the declining in food fishes and to push promoting fish culture.
  • Yellowstone National Park is Established

    Yellowstone National Park is Established
    In 1872,Yellowstone National Park became the first National Park in the United States. This park was created to preserve wildlife and natural resources in parks and forests. If this park was not a national park it would be owned by a private companies and would look very different.

    The American Fisheries Society places a granite monument to Baird at the Woods Hole Lab. This monument is still there today.

    This society protects birds in the wild that would not be alive without it.This was formed in the honor of John James Audubon.

    The national park service was created to care for the national parks all around the United States. This service is responsible for 330 protected parks.

    This act was a start to help protect migratory birds. This act is also known as the Norbeck-Andresen Act.

    People must purchase special stamps before they can go out and hunt migratory birds.The money made on people purchasing stamps goes toward protecting migratory birds.
