The assassination of Abraham Lincoln took place on April 14, 1865. Lincoln was attending a play in Ford's theater when the assassin, John Willkes Booth, snuck into his booth and shot him. He survived through the night but died in the morning. -

June 17, 1972 was the beginning of the Watergate Scandal. It began with five men who broke into the DNC headquarters at the Watergate hotel. It was later discovered president Nixon was behind it all and he attempted to cover it up. The whole scandal led to his resignment. -

Bill Clinton was the 42nd president of the United States. He was impeached by the House of Representatives on account of perjury and obstruction of justice. The events of the Lewinsky scandal and the Paula Jones lawsuit led to this impeachment. -
9/11
The events of 9/11 were tragic and are still recognized today. The famous Twin Towers in NYC were the target of 19 terrorists. and four different suicide attacks. A plane crashed into them, destroying the buildings and killing hundreds.
