    The french and indian war was a war between the french and the british. The war was caused by a disagreement on territory because the french went over their boundries set by the british. Then the indians were on the british side expecting rewards for helping.

    A treaty created after the french and indian war between the french an the british. It forced the french to give up all of its territory in north america. Which removed any threats to british troops in north america
  • proclamation of 1763

    Stated that settlers could not pass the appalachian mountains. Any one who was already past the mountains had to move back and abandon everything. The indians liked the line made because they could keep their land.
  • stamp act

    The stamp act put a tax on any paper product by requiring a stamp to be put on anything paper. The tax itself wasnt very expensive but it was the principle of the matter that angered the colonists. The tax was to help pay for the war.

    The boston massacre was where the colonists were slaughtered by the soldiers. The colonists were killed because the soldiers were being harrased by a mob so they shot innocent people. the soldiers were tried and found guilty for manslaughter.

    The boston tea party was a protest done by the sons of liberty. The sons of liberty dressed up as indians and threw tea off of the ships into the water, destroying hundreds of pounds of tea. the british decided to tax the colonists more to pay for the damage.

    The intolerable acts were laws passed by the british to tax the colonists for the damage done during the boston tea party. The colonists were furious and refused to buy tea until the tax was lifted.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought during the siege of boston. The battle was named after Bunker Hill in Charlestown. At this battle the british defeated the americans.

    The Common Sense writing was about how the british was against the colonies instead of for them. It talks about how the colonists should break away from britian because if they dont they are setting themselves up for failure. this writing boosted the moral and the amount of people ready to fight the british for the freedom of the colonies.

    The Declaration of Independance explained that the colonies were no longer apart of the british and they were becoming independant. It also explained that the way the british ruled was unfair and unruly. It also declared peoples natural rights.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The balle of Trenton was one of the smaller battles in the war but that doesnt make it any less significant. The hessian army made by the british was defeated by George Washingtons army while crossing the delaware river. The americans found it funnt how easily the hessian army was defeated.
  • valley forge

    At Valley Forge George Washington lead the americans and trained the soldiers. The continental congress concidered replacing George Washington because they questioned his compitence. When George Washingtons army walked out of valley forge they were stronger and and better disciplined. They went on to win a battle nine days later.
  • battle of saratoga

    The battle of saratoga was a combination of two battles. The two battles were faught eighteen days apart. The army George Washington trained and led faught in the battles and won.
  • battle of cowpens

    The battle of Cowpens was the most decisive win for america. This win boosted the moral of the soldiers. The Americans caused so much damage to the british that they surrendered soon after this battle.

    In the Battle of Yorktown the Franco-American trapped a major british army. The British were forced to surrender and lost the battle. The battle basically ended military operations in America
  • Treaty of Paris 1783

    The Treaty of Paris 1783 was signed by they representatives of the king. The Treaty Marked the end of the revolutionary war. It also granted the independance of America
