Invention of the Telegraph
Samuel F. B. Morse created the Telegraph machine. A Telegraph was an electrical machine designed to send telegrams or messages to the other person on the other end.The Telegraph still matters today because it was one of the first things that helped us communicate with others and that has advanced to now phones and computers and social media. If the Telegraph wasn't invented then other ideas of communication couldn't have come or not in a fast pace like it did. -
Invention of the Morse Code
After Morse created the Telegraph there was a problem of others being able to intercept messages and read them easily. This was especially a bad thing during World War 2 when the U.S. wanted to keep plans and tactics away from the enemy, and the enemy did the same. Morse is still important today because it led a path to protect information loke barcodes and fingerprints used today. -

Invention of Bessemer process
Inventors of the Bessemer process was William Kellly and Henry Bessemer. In the early 1850s, William created the Bessemer process but didn't go very far. Later on, Henry Bessemer independently made the same machine, advanced it further and patented it in 1856. The Bessemer process was an industrial process for producing large amounts of steel. This is still important today because we can make a lot of different materials like metal and steel using big factories with machines of our own. -
Invention of Mechanized Passenger Elevator
Elisha Otis invented the mechanized passenger elevator. Otis solved the problem of the elevator by making a safety "brake". The problem was the cables on the elevator could snap making the passenger fall to their death. The brake was a wooden frame that came out when the cable snapped and make the elevator stop instead of falling. This is still important today because elevators made way for the making of skyscrapers to reach levels. -
Invention of the Typewriter
Christopher Latham Sholes was the inventor of the typewriter. The typewriter was a machine that had keys of the alphabet and paper at the top of the machine. When you typed letters they would come out with ink and if a mistake was made you would have to start all over. The typewriters are still important today because the computers we used today have the same keys of the alphabet. We added our own addition which has advanced the typewriter and has spellcheck to make no mistakes. -
Invention of the Compressed-air brake
The compressed-air brake was made by George Westinghouse. The compressed-air brake was for railway service. This brake was the friction for vehicles which compressed air was pushed to apply pressure to brake pad to stop the vehicle. This is still important today because it is used for trains and other big vehicles. It is also a lifesaver to be able to stop when needed. -
Invention of the Telephone
Alexander Graham Bell was the inventor the telephone. The first version of the telephone was that was plugged into the wall. And to dial a number you would spin the wheel to the first number and it would rotate back and have a sound, and you would repeat that process until the phone number was dialed. This was another way of communication. This is important today because we have phones but has advanced really far. Our phones are portable, big touch screens, apps, and much more. -
Invention of the Phonograph
Thomas Edison invented the phonograph. The phonograph was a heavy bulky machine that recorded or captured sound and played it back. This is still important today because it made way for recorders on phones and other devices. And it has now become smaller and lightweight easy to carry. This made way to save moments, have evidence, and make movies and productions. -
Invention of the Lightbulb
After Thomas Edison made the phonograph, he invented the lightbulb. The lightbulb was a device that was able to produce light that that was held the wires with glass to keep the light or heat conducted contained. This was helpful for people to see at night or in dark places. This ist still important because we still use lightbulb all we have done is make more efficent, green friendly, and save money on the bill. -
Invention of the First powered piloted plane
The inventors Wilbur and Orville Wright aka the Wright Brothers invented the first airplane able to fly long distance and had a pilot to control the plane. Many planes had been done but the Wright Bothers were the first to be successful at making to the concept of flying work. This is still important today because we have planes for many uses travel, war, transporting goods and much more. Airplanes has advanced over the technology ages.
