Expostition 1:Backround
Miranda, a streetwise 12 year old, lives with her single mother in a ruddy apartment building in New York City. Her best friend, or was her best friend, Sal, got punched by an older kid on the street. Now he has "detached" himself from Miranda, and she has no idea why. She also knows to avoid the mentally disturbed man on the street who sleeps with his head under a mail box, she calls him, the laughing man. Her mom got an invitation to be acontesten on the $20,000 pryamid. -
CONFLICT
Miranda's emergency house key that is hidden, is gone and the same time it goes missing, she receives a mysterious letter that asks her to write a story for the anonymous writer. -
Rising Action 1
The boy who punched Sal, and Miranda meet one day,his name is Marcus, and she finds out he is very smart. She asks him why he punched him, and said the reason he does everything else, to see what the reaction is.
I chose this image becuase Marcus may look threatning, like this wolf, but is actually very smart. -

While working at Jimmie's, Miranda recives another note in her backpack, asking her once again to write a story. The write remains anonymous... -
Rsing Action 4
Miranda has never been friends with a girl named Julia, who is rich and rubs it in her face, but Julia's friend, Annemarie, is becoming better friends with Miranda.
I chose this picture because these 2 AWESOME HORSES are starting to become friends. -
Rising Action 2
A classmate of Miranda's, named Colin, who has never paid any attention to miranda before is suddenly hangoing out with her and her friend Annemarie. He gets them jobs at the local sandwich shop called Jimmies. -
Rising Action 5
In Miranda's letters, the writer asks her to write a true story with as much detail as possible, and to keep the notes a secret.
I chose this picture because there are a lot of unanswered questions in these mysterious letters. -
CLIMAX
Miranda puts her head under the mailbox, just as the laughing man does and finds words etched in, the exact places where she found her notes. The laughing man was her writer.
This picture represents how the answer to her question, who was writing these, was under her nose, but was blurred. -
Falling Action 2
Sal ran into the street, and an oblivious truck driver, nearly hit him. But the laughing man saved him by taking his shoe and throwing it at Sal which moved him out of the way, leaving the laughing man hit instead. -
Falling Action 3
Miranda saw the whole thing and is so grateful that Sal isn't dead. Howver, Marcus, in shock, is sobbing on the sidewalk. It is then she finds out the laughing man wrote her the notes. -
Falling Action 1
Marcus saw sal and tried to apoligize for what he did, but Sal got scared and ran away from him, so Maruc sran after him. -
Resolution 1
Miranda's mom had been practicing very hard to win the game show, and when the day came, she won $10,000! -
Resolution 2
Miranda's mom's boyfriend proposes to her, and they get married. Miranda has a family! -
Resolution 3
Miranda has a family, money and she kept all her letters so she could one day write the story. All is well.
I chose this picture because, in the first event, there is a silver ling to a drery rain cloud, but now the sun has come out!
