On this day, President Kennedy decided to put a blockade on Cuba by the US navy so they could not ship in any more necessary supplies. -
Kennedy's Televised Speech
On this day, President Kennedy announced over TV that the Soviets had installed nuclear missiles located in Cuba. -
Castro's Orders.
Castro ordered mobilization of 270,000 Soviets because of the anticipation of a U.S invasion. -
Khrushchev Blasting
On October 23rd, Khrushchev (Moscow), had blasted the US quarintine of Cuba becuase of a violation of international law. He said no matter the type of missiles, they were for defense purposes. -
Into effect
On this day, the US naval quarintine went into full effect. Khrushchev made Soviet ships to rush towards the quarintine line. The Soviets said they would sink any US vessel. -
Retreat!
On October 25th, over a dozen Soviet ships retreated back from Cuba, but the missile sites had increased. -
The First Letter
On this day, Khrushchev said to Kennedy saying to remove his missiles to prevent a nuclear war. -
Pilot Down!
On the 27th of October, the Soviets had shot down a US plane over Cuba killing the pilot, Major Rudolph Anderson. -
The Second Letter
On this day, a letter signed by Khrushchev to Keneddey stating they remove their nuclear missiles from Turkey in return of the Soviets removing their's from Cuba. But Kennedy denied. -
Cuban Assurance.
On this day, President Kennedy offered Cuba assurance of they promptly remove their quarantine measures that were in full effect. -

On October 27th, Khrushchev received Kennedy's letter about his meeting with the Ambasador, and receiving a cable from Castro. -

On October 28th, Castro kept Cuba on war footing, incase of a U.S invasion. -
