What Events brought the United States into World War I?

    Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife go to Sarajevo, but are assassinated, and the people it's believed to be from a Serbian Nationalist.
    This is significant to the US because we've had several assassinations in our time, and what could stop Serbian or even Germany from killing our president?

    Britain declares war on Germany and Austria-Hungary. This includes other countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and South America. US States their Neutrality. This wasn't that significant to the US except for the fact that we helped supply they countries, and now majority of the places around the US were in war.

    German U-boat attacks Lusitania, downing 1,201 people which includes 128 Americans.
    This affected the US a lot, the several deaths caused panic between Americans as they wished to strike war.

    The Americans re-elect Woodrow Wilson, he held the slogan ''He kept us out of war.''
    He was a great president for the USA and it helped us keep neutrality for awhile.

    The British intercept a telegram sent by Alfred Zimmermann, the message spoke of plans for an alliance between Germany and Mexico against the United States. Mexico could gain their old land, which is now AZ, NM, and TX, in favor of joining Germany. They made it public, causing an outcry. This was great for the US so we could find out about the events between Germany and Mexico, so we could stop it or prepare.

    This was important because it helped clear up some of the bad language people spoke to the choices in the War.

    At 5:10 am, in a railway car at Compiègne, France, the Germans sign the Armistice which is effective at 11 am--the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Fighting continues all along the Western Front until precisely 11 o'clock, with 2,000 casualties experienced that day by all sides. Artillery barrages also erupt as 11 am draws near as soldiers yearn to claim they fired the very last shot in the war.

    Germany officially ends the war in the Palace of Versailles, France. The treaty was 230 pages! back in Germany, people were upset, responding in mass destruction and they blamed themselves for the outcome. it affected the USA since the war they were fighting in was finally over.
