The remaining world powers rushed carve up the modern world. This was a several conferences in 1945, diplomatically and non diplomatically used during the claiming of land mostly in eastern Europe and providing Germany a stable solution unlike the Treaty of Versailles. The Potsdam Conference proved the ground work for avoiding wars when the Soviets rushed to Korea and newly freed world just as the allies did. -

The USA had secretly devolved an atomic bomb not knowing if it would work or not the USA used it in desperation to save mass land invasion. After the success of one atomic bomb the USA used another one. Many say this was to scare the Soviets and was the start of the cold war. -

Wall to claim East Europe under the USSR as a soviet block. The USSR did this so they have something to take away from ww2. The US set up almost the same system but not with walls but by overthrowing democratically elected governments that disagree with the policy in South America, Africa and much of Asia. -

Berlin blockade and US airdrop
Deutsche Mark was a form of currency introduced by western allies to Berlin. This was seen as a hostile action and the soviets reasoned by blocking the road the supply Berlin. This lasted a little over a year with the us air dropping supplies over Soviet air space. -
NATO
North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO was an alliance between Europe and America to respond to the USSR. NATO was supposed to be disbanded after the fall of the Soviet Union and none the less NATO is still vary much involved with Europe. -

The bomb use on japan in ww2 was copied by Soviet spies. This made Russia a nuclear threat. The US government convicted and killed both of The Rosenberg's claiming they gave the nuclear information to the Soviets. . -
Korean imperialism
After the USA invaded Japan controlled Korea the US killed communist in South Korea this led to rising tension in the communist controlled north. North Korea wanted to unite all Korea under the people's republic the US and other western powers stop the North from taking complete control. Starting an on going war between Korea and the world powers that be. -

Promised the right to self determination after ww2 the Vietnamese people where shock when France broke this deal, this led to a Civil war with a communist north and capitalist south. The result was an unjust US intervention with the golf of token bay and the death of many civilians. Peace talks in France led the country to be a free communist nation after support from the us population fell. -

The first big resistance after WW2 in the eastern block. Freed from Soviet rule for only a while a retaliation was brought on the Hungarian people by an invasion and re-installation of a communist government. -

The CIA trained Cuban exiles to invaded Cuba with support of the us army. This lasted 3 days of fighting until the western forces left. This led to Cuba getting missiles 90 miles of the cost of the USA as a form of protection from coup much like North Korea and Iran in modern day. -
Berlin Wall
The Soviet Union constructed a wall separating the western half of Berlin making an ideological wall in Berlin. This separated the way of each side lived with one under communist rule and another under capitalist rule. The wall fell before the USSR fell in 1989. -
Missile Crisis
In response to the failed Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Soviet leader Nikita decided to agree to Cuba's request to place nuclear missiles on Cuba. An agreement was reached during a secret meeting that led to construction of a number of missile launch facilities started later that summer. -

The Reagan Doctrine was a strategy implemented by the US to overwhelm the Soviets with capitalist influence as an attempt to end the Cold War.The United States provided aid to anti-communist guerrillas and resistance movements in order to "roll back" Soviet backed governments in Africa, Asia, and South America. -
