This Portugese explorer wanted to travel all around the world, so he started off going to the western hemisphere. Thats when they hit land on the south part of the land which is now know as South America. -
French to Canada
The French didn't have any permanent settlements in Canada until 1608, when Samuel de Champlain founded Quebec. Few colonists ever came to the French territory in Canada: the climate was considered undesirable, and the French government provided few incentives for them to leave France. -
Slave religion
Christianity became alive as slaves began to combine their African religious beliefs with Christian beliefs. Then, slave owners began to have different thoughts between each other as well. Some believed that slaves were more than inferior so this meant that they should try to acquire Christian redemption, others believed that converting slaves into Christians would cause many problems because they could start thinking that they were equal to white. -
French Traders
In an effort to expand France's vast fur-trading empire, a number of French traders pushed westward onto the Great Plains in the first half of the eighteenth century. Unlike the Spanish, these explorers did not attempt to establish permanent communities but instead focused on mapping navigable waterways, identifying potential Native trading partners, and searching for a route to the Pacific Ocean. -
Alexander Von Humbult
He traveled to the south part of the western hemisphere which is latin america and south america. He wrote about his time and journey there and published in an enormous set of volumes over 21 years.He was the first to propose that the lands bordering the Atlantic ocean were once joined.( South Americ and Africa) -
Lewis and Clark
This was the first exploration to go all the way across from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This took place a little later after the Louisiana Purchase. They started through the Missouri river and went through the rockies out to California.
