The factory system was prodominant in the Northern United States while industry was frowned upon in the South. The factory system was when people would all go to a building with many machines to produce a large surplus of items. -

Steamboats were new invention that were stronger and more efficient. The first successful steamboat was created by Robert Fulton in New York. -

The Middle class was the fadtest growing class in the United States. They worked during the day and had a diet consisting of meat, grains, and veggies and fruits. -

John Marshall was a Supreme Court Justice in Washington, D.C. He was the cousin of Thomas Jefferson. He did the most to mold the American Justice system on his own. He was extremely stong- willed and powerful. -
James Madison
James Madison was the 4th President of the United States. He was President when Americans were being taken hostage by English sailors and during the unneccassary War of 1812. He served until 1817. -
Dartmouth v. woodward
This took place in New Hampshire because Congress wanted to make Dartmouth a state university. -
Tallmadge Amendment
The Tallmadge Amendment was presented to Congress in Washington D.C/ The bill stated that all children born after this bill was introduced would become after they turned 25. -

The Panic of 1819 took place all over America. This panic occured because banks began to call in loans to farmers of America that were unable to pay. It also occured because of the debt from the War of 1812. -

The Spoil system was when Presidential candidates won their place in Washington D.C, they would appoint their friends and/ or supporters as part of theri cabinent to give them a job regardless of their qualification. -

The affair Peggy Eaton and Senator Eatron took part of in Washington, DC cost the entire cabinent of Andrew Jackson to lose their jobs because their wives had a great disdain for Peggy when they heard of the affair. -

The Trail of Tears was the removal of all Native American tribes east of the Mississippi River. -

The 5 civilized Native Americans tribes are the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole because they were the only tribes that adopted some of the European ways and customs. -

Nativism was an idea that immigration should be illegal. This idea was popular in the late 1800's in Northern United States when plenty of Irish and Germans moved here because of the Potatoe Famine. -
