  • Werner Heisenberg Summary

Werner Heisenberg lived a very extraordinary life from the moment he entered college in 1920, all the way up to his death. "His most important contribution to quantum mechanical ideas is a strange and fascinating concept known as the "Heisenberg uncertainty principle." Werner Heisenberg worked closely with quantum theory, nuclear fission and even went as far as trying to develop an atomic bomb for the Nazis.
  • Werner Heisenberg Summary part Two

However, "the U.S. succeeded in building two atomic bombs, which were dropped on Japan in 1945." Although he failed to develop the bomb first, he did not stop there. Instead, the Nazis moved him to a small lab that's primary focus was the development of the bomb. "When the Allied Forces won the war, Heisenberg was taken prisoner and held for six months with a group of other scientists in Cambridge.
  • Werner Heisenberg Summary Part Three

"After his release, he returned to Germany, where he devoted the rest of his life to research on high-energy particle physics." He later died of cancer on February 1, 1976. Lee. (2006). Werner Karl Heisenberg. Great Neck Publishing.

Werner Heisenberg "is best remembered as part of the small group of scientists who founded the field of quantum mechanics in the early twentieth century." However, Heisenberg was working for several decades on numerous ideas from about 1923-1958. Cite: Lee. (2006). Werner Karl Heisenberg. Great Neck Publishing.
