In 1922 to 1923 he went to study physics under Max Born. In 1923 he took his Ph.D. at the University of Munich and became the assistant to Max Born at the University of Gottingen and in 1924 he gained the venia legend.

In 1926 he was appointed the Lecturer in Theoretical Physics at the University of Copenhagen under Niels Bohr and in 1927 he was appointed the Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Leipzig

Nuclear Research
Werner Heisenberg was drafted to work for the Army Weapons Bureau on nuclear energy and later became the director of Kaiser Wilhem Institute of Physics in 1942 at Berlin. He took the leading role in German nuclear research.
