Birth
Werner Heisenberg was born on December 5th 1901 in Würzburg, Germany. -
College
Werner Heisenberg entered the University of Munich in 1920 and became a student of Arnold Sommerfeld. -
Assistant
While being a student for Arnold Sommerfeld, Heisenberg was the assistant and a student of Max Born at the University of Göttingen. -
Doctorate degree
Finished his formal work for a doctorate degree in 1923 with a dissertation on hydrodynamics -
Founding of Quantum Mechanics
Heisenberg had an extended visit at Bohr's Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of Copenhagen. He addressed the problem of the spectrum intensities of electrons taken as anharmonic oscillator. His believed that the theory should be based on observable quantities. He posted a paper in July of 1927 on this theory -
Quantum Field theory
In 1927 Heisenberg had a professorship in Leipzig. He embarked on a research program to create the quantum field theory. Quantum field theory is the behavior of subatomic particles and their interactions within two fields; the electromagnetic field and the electron field. -
Uncertainty Principle
Heisenberg is widely known for the Uncertainty principle that he published in 1927. In the paper he explained that the momentum and position of a particle could not both be exactly measured simultaneously.

Nobel prize
Heisenberg later received the noble prize for physics in 1933 for the 1932 physics prize -
death
Heisenberg died on February 1st 1976
