  • Bilingual Education Act

    Bilingual Education Act
    The federal government recognized the needs of a bilingual education for students. We are responsible for educating immigrant children. Students are no longer forced to learn in English.

    IDEA: Individuals with Disabilities Act

    Federal funding is used to meet the educational needs of students with disabilities. IDEA closes the gap so that students with disabilities have the opportunity to learn in public schools. Before IDEA, it was common for states to place kids with disabilities in separate schools. Or in separate classrooms away from their peers. Their education was often poor and underfunded. With this new act we could offer a way for all children to succeed in school.

  • Equal Access Act

    Equal Access Act
    Ensures that students can create all types of groups without discrimination.
    Examples: Christian athletes club, Latinos culture club, LGBTQ+, Asian student association, black student union, etc. Equal Access Act
