Electronic mail is introcued by Ray Tomlinson. He chose the symbol " @" The first email was sent from two computers sitting next to each other. Ray said he created it because " It seemed like a neat idea" -

The first PC was developed by Dennis Haynes and Dale Heatherington. -

Scott Fahlman started off the smileys by suggesting using the :-) and :-( to show emotions in emails -
AOL launched
AOL was launched. It is based in New York but has many offices throughout North America. The founders were : Steve Case and JIm Kimsey. -
Google arrives
Google was launched . The name " Google" was an accident , A spelling mistake was made the original founders were going for " Googol" -
Youtube Launched
Youtube was founded by Chad Hurley , Steve Chen , and Jawed Karmin . who all worked for PayPal. The name " YouTube" was created on 14th February 2005. A public preview was shown on May 2005 , 6 months before YouTube came official. The first YouTube video was titled " Me at the zoo" and shows co fonder Jawed Karmin at San Diego Zoo and was uploaded on April 23rd 2005 and can still be viewed today. -
Twitter Launched :)
Twitter was launched. It was meant to be called Twittr inspired by Flickr. Twitter was founnded in San Francisco but its used by people in nearly every country in the world. It is avaliable in more than 20 languages and they still continue to add to them. You can get twitter on every smartphone. -
