    First Fleet
    The First Fleet, also known as the eleven ships, had sailed from Great Britain on the 13 of May 1787. Captain James cook was an explorer that spent most of his life exploring most of the world. He then found an island, known as Australia as today. The Europeans were the first to ever migrate to Australia.
  • Gold Rush

    Gold Rush
    A lot of Gold Rushes happened around Australia. The most important one was the Victorian Gold Rush in 1851. People from China, Europe and Great Britain came to Australia to find the gold that could make them very rich. The Europeans and the Chinese travelled to Australia by ship or boat. When the Chinese entered Australia, they changed Australia with their clothing, food and traditions.
  • World War 1

    Germany declared war on France and Russia. They also took over Belgium. Germany then had to apply the Schlieffen Plan. Various people migrated to Australia in World War 1 because of the bombing from Germany with many other countless nations aside them. They arrived to Australia by boat. This wave of migration had people from Europe bringing their food and traditions with them to Australia.

    After World War 2, many displaced people all around Europe cruised to Australia. Australia launched a humongous immigration programme. Over 1,000,000 British citizens migrated to Australia under the Assisted Migration Scheme, also known as 'Ten Pound Poms. This meant that various people from Europe migrated to Australia by boat for a payment of ten pounds. This wave of migration boosted the population of Australia, bringing people with many traditions and food.
  • Vietnam War

    A while later after the Vietnam War; around 10 years, there were already 90,000 people that escaped to Australia because of the war. Many Vietnamese, Chinese and Indonesians migrated to Australia by boat; mainly the refugees that came from the Asian parts. This lead to Australia opening a variety of restaurants with Asian cuisine, lots of different traditions, religions and fashion.

    These days, you see many people worldwide migrate to Australia by plane. There were various reasons for migrating to Australia. Some were that people could have better education, a better lifestyle or start off fresh in a new country since there country was either poor or had continuous world disasters; such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes etc. This wave of migration has revolutionized the population to Australia greatly. There are now countless multicultural societies within Australia.
