The beginning
A reporting Bob Woodward was assigned to report on a seemingly insignificant incident. This caused Bob to go to the court case and see that the CIA was involved in this incident. This later made bob ask questions that the answers then revealed to be something bigger. -

Summer of 1973
In June 1973 McCord's testimony shocked the world. It was revealed that the attorney general ordered the break-in and Nixon was directly involved in the cover-up. -
Fall of 1973
In the fall everything escalated. Archibald Cox took Nixon to court to make him give up the tapes. This damaged Nixon's reputation greatly along with many other politicians. Eventually, all associated politicians that were in the scandal were forced to resign. -
White house aid testimony
White House aide Alexander Butterfield testified that Nixon had ordered a taping system installed in the White House to record all conversations to help him write his memoirs after leaving office. -
