This established the National Health, Education and Welfare, a new cabinet level agency which would increase greatly Social Security. -
National Aeronautics and Space Act
This act established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, or NASA, which would attempt US space travel. It was founded from the NACA, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, but this new agency would take a larger role in going to space. -
