Even though the Jay treaty solved the issue of Britain and the United States it still solve the issue of the impressment of American sailors that were captured by the British Navy. The impressment of American sailors being left unresolved was one of the reasons for the War of 1812

    Washington's Farewell address was written by Alexander Hamilton per request from Washington. The farewell address had said that they should avoid getting alliance with other foreign nations, should remain unified, and that they should remain neutral so that they wouldn't get pulled into European conflicts.

    The British had taken three men from the American ship while looking for any sailors that had abandon the British navy. The British had been able to get a warrant to be able to search the ship but James Barron refuses which had led the British officers killing three and wounding eighteen Americans. This had created tension between America and Britain because of the situation angering the Americans.

The Embargo Act was to prevent trades with other foreign nations but it had failed since it took a toll on the Americans economy. When America had decided to start trading again, the British had continued to stop American merchant ships to search for any British Navy deserters.

President Madison had declared war on June 1812. the U.S. had tried to invade Canada but failed and the U.S. had gave up Detroit without a fight to the British and Native Americans.

    The War Hawks wanted to fight Britain because they were mad at them about the impressment of American Sailors, Trade restrictions, and the alliance of Native Americans. They believed that if they went to war with the British it would help the U.S. with expanding their territory. The War Hawks were heavily leaning on the side of going to war with the British since they were a group made up of young, pro-war politicians.

    When the British Navy decided to take American sailors and force them to work for them caused the Americans to get angry with the British since they felt it was a violation of their rights. This was one of the main reasons for the Americans to start war with the British.

    Tecumseh had allied with the British because they thought it would be the best way to be able to defend the expansion of the Americans territories. The Native leaders had hoped that the British would stay true to their agreement of providing support for them since the Natives and British had been in touch before the War of 1812.

    The Federalists from New England held a meeting in the late 1814's to discuss the things they were upset about the War of 1812. Many had thought that New England was going to break away from the United States. New England had suggested that they make changes to the Constitution to be able to limit the federal power which would make it harder to declare war.

    The Treaty of Ghent had ended the war of 1812 with the neither Britain or the U.S. winning. Even though the Treaty of Ghent ended many of the issues that started the war weren't resolved, such as the impressment of American sailors,and the argument of the new territory. It had only put the borders how they were before the war even started.

    Battle of New Orleans
    The battle of the New Orleans had happened after the treaty had been signed and was the last battle of the War of 1812. The British had attacked New Orleans but the American General Andrew Jackson had led a strong defense which consisted of soldiers, local milita, and volunteers. The Americans were well-prepared for the attack and because of this it had caused the British attack to fail and America gaining a win.
