    German troops marched into Austria unopposed making Austria Hitler's first target. The majority of Austria's 6 million people were Germans who favored unification with Germany. A day later Germany announced the union between Austria and Germany is complete.

    Daladier and Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement with Hitler. The French and Germans came to a settlement that if Hitler doesn't use his military against them he will get the land he already took without any problems.

    German troops broke the treaty and poured into what was left of Czechoslovakia. By the time Hitler's troops left, this country was completely gone. Meaning it no longer exists anymore.

    Hitler launched a surprise invasion of Denmark and Norway. He did this to protect the country's independence and freedom. He wanted to build bases along the coast to strike at Great Britain.

    Germany launched war and the Germans began to invade the French coast. The Luftwaffe began bombing Britain. Their goal was to get control of the skies by destroying Britain's Royal Air Force. About 2,000 German planes ranged Britain targeting cities.

    A new device called the radar was developed. This helped British pilots plot Germany. The RAF shot down 185 German planes and lost 126 aircraft. The German bombers continued to bomb German cities
