At age of sixteen, Disney tried join the army but couldn't because he was underage, so he was sent to France to work at the Red Cross.

His got him a job at Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio, there he worked at the Kansas films ad company with cutout animation, later he decided to start his own animation business.

After showing his cartoons at the local Kansas city theater his shorts films got popular and he acquired his own studio.But at the year of 1923 burdened with debt.

Oswald the rabbit and Steamboat Willie

The studio moved to hollywood, there they met Margaret Winkler, together they created a character:Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
Later Winkler stoled the rights of the characters and the animators of disney's studio.
With Iwerks and theirs wives they devoleped three new animations using a character invented by Disney named Mickey mouse, they failed to find distribution to the first two animations, but they finally did it with their third short "Steamboat Willie".
