Walts Childhood
Walt and his family moved to Marceline, MO. As a child, Walt grew up on a farm and then developed his love for drawing. -

After having to sell the farm, the Disneys moved to Kansas City, MO. Walt sold newspapers and took care of his family. Walt falls in love with vaudeville and movies. -
Walts Beginning of Art
The Disneys then move to Chicago, Walt hopes to become a newspaper cartoonist. Since he had that big dream, he starts drawing pictures for McKinley High School newspaper. He even starts attending evening classes at Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. -
Back to KCMO
Walt moves back to Kansas City and finds a job that pays $50 a month and he gets to do what he loves, his job is called Pesmen-Rubin Commercial Art Studio -
Change for Walt
Walt found employment with the Kansas City Film Ad Company. While working at the ad company, he had to start making animations for commercials. Walt found an interest in making animations and soon became an animator.

Ub Iwerks
When Walt Disney met Ub Iwerks, things really changed for Walt. Disney and Iwerks left the Kansas City Ad company and decided to make their own company, Iwerks-Disney Commercial Artists.

Laugh-O-Grams
Disney, Roy (Walts brother), and Iwerks all started working together and Laugh-O-Grams. Together they made cartoons and Laugh-O-grams became very popular which opened p the studio. Shortly after, Laugh-O-Grams shut down due to financial debt. -
California
Since Laugh-O-Grams shut down,Roy Disney, Walt Disney, and Ub Iwerks all moved to california. While in California, the boys succeeded in setting up a studio, Disney Brother's Studio. -
Lillian Bound
While Disney and Iwerk were animating Alice and Wonderland, Disney hired a ink-and-painter artist, Lillian Bound. Throughout time Walt and Lillian fell in love and became life partners. -
Mickey Mouse
Walt and Ub designed a character that still lives today, Mickey Mouse. Walt made tons of movies, commercials, musicals, and short films that included Mickey Mouse. Once Mickey Mouse finally got popular, Walt released many cartoons. -
MIckey and Friends
After he created MIckey, he made multiple other characters. Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. After making that family of characters, he kept going. He created a cartoon,"The Big Bad Wolf," also "Flowers and Trees." -
Diane Disney Miller
Diane Disney MIller was born on December 18, 1933. In 1954 she got married to Ron Miller and were married for 60 years, Ron and Diane raised many kinds together. Diane Disney died in 2013. -
Sharon Mae Disney
In 1936, Walt and Lillian adopted Sharon Mae Disney. Lillian has several miscarriages before and after their other daughter, Diane, birth so they decided to adopt Sharon. -
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Walt made a movie that really changed him and his career. Snow White went into production in 1934, three years later the movie went big and went into theaters. Snow White became the most successful film in 1938. -
Golden Age of Anitmation
Walt Disney didn't stop after the success of Snow white, he kept going. After Snow White he continued on many other movies, Pinnochio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi. After Snow White got so popular, he was given the name "Golden Age of Animation." -
Focusing on Films
After the fall of Walts Studio, he continued to focus on films. Walt animated Cinderella, Peter Pan, Treasure Island, Lady in The Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, and 101 Dalmatians . -
Disneyland
Walt Disney purchesed makes a deal with ABC television in exchange for a $500,000 investment for ABC in disneyland. Walt then buys 244 acres of land in Anaheim, California for the site of Disneyland. Disneyland was designed and built under the supervision of Walt. -
More Movies
After Disneyland opened, Disney continued to make movies. Disney released "Sword in the Stone" and "Mary Poppins.' Even though Disneyland had most of the attention since it just opened, "Mary Poppins" was a huge hit. IT made tons of money and became very popular. -
Death of Disney
In 1966,Walt was diagnosed with Lung cancer and died shortly after on December 15,1966. He was cremated and his ashes were thrown at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
