15th Amendment
This amendment was equal voting rights for men regardless of race -
Guinn VS U.S
This was a case that found the grandfather clause to be unconstitutional. the grandfather clause said that if your grandfather voted you can vote, this was great however slaves' grandparents didn't vote therefore they couldn't vote. -
19th Amendment
This Amendment gave women the right to vote. During this time people realized that not only men should have the right to vote, therefore after voting women got their right. -
23rd Amendment
This Amendment made it so the citizens living in the D.C. area could have the right to vote. Originally they were not granted to the citizens but through this progress. -
24th Amendment
Prohibits any type of poll taxing, this helps make the system more affordable and more of an opportunity instead of a luxury. -
Freedom Summer
This was an attempt to gather as many black voters in Mississippi at one time. This was to ultimately win free voting. -
Voting rights act of 65
Similar to the 15th amendment, this act seeked to give African Americans the ability to vote. -
26th Amendment
This Amendment reduced the voting age to 18. With this in policy, it made it so that when you become an adult you also become burdened with voting. -
Motor voter
Offers voting registration at state motor vehicle agency. This allowed a more broad audience to have knowledge and access to voting. -
Military and overseas empowerment
This act was instilled so that our soldiers overseas could have an easier time going in their current elections. This is important because those are heroes and they should have a fair say in the current politics going on in the country they are fighting for.
