    After the civil war. The 15th Amendment passed and intended to protect ANY citizen from being denied the right to vote because of RACE OF COLOR.
    But it didn't go into full affect because of racail discrimination. African Americans were threatend and harassed so that they could not vote. There was also a Literary Test made to make it harder for African Americans to vote and other non-educated people for that matter.......I took a literacy test that thing is hard!
