    The New Paltz men's volleyball team recorded back-to-back wins over Rivier College and Mount Ida College in the 2016 Granite Challenge. In the process, 10th-year head coach Radu Petrus recorded the 200th win of his coaching career.

    New Paltz Begins Conference Play
    The Hawks had their first big test of the season as they went up against conference foes. New Paltz defeated Nazareth College and Stevens Institute of Technology in back-to-back matches for a 2-0 start in UVC conference matchups.

    Spring Cleaning
    New Paltz defeated the top-seeded Springfield College to become the top team in the United Volleyball Conference (UVC), winning by a score of 3-0. The win boosted the Hawk's program-record winning streak to 19 games. This was their first win against Springfield since 2014, where New Paltz defeated Springfield and Rivier College in the same tournament when they were the two best teams in the UVC.
  • New Paltz captures second UVC Title

    New Paltz captures second UVC Title
    After defeating ninth-ranked Nazareth College a day earlier, New Paltz won the UVC Tournament for the second time in program history. The Hawks swept the fourth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology 3-0. Earlier in the season, New Paltz won the rights to host the entire tournament on their home court after going undefeated in conference play. This was the fifth time in program history the team has reached the 30-win mark.
  • National Champions

    National Champions
    For the first time in program history, the top-ranked New Paltz men's volleyball team has captured an NCAA Division III Tournament title, defeating No. 2 Springfield College for the third time this season. The win also marked the first NCAA title for any New Paltz team. The Hawks concluded their historic season with a 33-2 overall record and a 30-0 mark against Division III teams. Christian Smith was named NCAA Tournament MVP after doubling his assist total from last season, with 1143 assists.
