    In June 1947 Violeta’s father was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. After her father died she went back to Nicaragua. Doing this she was cutting her schooling in the United States short.

    In 1950 Violetta married Pedro Joaquin Chamorro. In total they had known each other for one year. After being married they then had five children together.
