    First stage(793-850)

    The Viking Age began with the attack on the English monastery of Lindisfarne, which is the first known Viking attack. The event that marks the end of its glory days was the death of King Harald Hardrada at the Battle of Stramford Bridge.

    This is a period of much better organized expeditions, with important leaders such as jarls or kings.These are expeditions in which the Vikings begin to use that characteristic weapon of theirs, psychological warfare.It is the time of the beginning of the danegeld.

    Third stage(900-980)

    Settlement stage; installation of colonies and colonization of territories such as Iceland, Greenland, Normandy, the Danelaw, South Ireland and the Slavic regions of kyiv and Russia. It is also the stage of the beginning of the Christianization of Scandinavia, a fact that marks the beginning of the end of the Viking Age.

    fourth stage(980-1066)

    It is a stage that only concerns, mainly, the Danes and Swedes. The Danes will choose to go to the northwest and will try to gain supremacy in the whole of Scandinavia with Svein the Cloven-Bearded and Knút the Great, as well as in Great Britain. They will be finally defeated at the Battle of Stamford Bridge and the Battle of Hastings.
