Theory of if one country was under the power of communism, then the surrounding countries would also get influenced by the communist country. Eisenhower put this idea together and opened up a speech on April 7, 1954. This idea scared many Americans. -
Support Coup of Diem
The south Vietnamese opens up a coup and tells the United States to not disturb their coup. The coup was led by Duong Van Minh and Diem. It continued smoothly until the loyalists leaders were captured by the guard and Diem was captured and killed the next day. -

The Invasion of Cambodia
On April 30th of 1970, President Richard Nixon declared to a television audience that the American military troops were to invade Cambodia. The invasion was under the pretext of disrupting the North Vietnamese supply lines. -
Kent State shootings
The Ohio National Guard fired and killed four students and wounded nine students. The students were protesting about Nixon's Cambodian Campaign. -
The Fall of Saigon
The Fall of Saigon was the capture of Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, by the People’s Army of Vietnam and the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam on April 30, 1975.This event made the start of a transition period leading to the formal reunification of Vietnam into a socialist republic, governed by the Communist Party of Vietnam.
