Tet Offensive
Over 80,000 Vietcong troops emerged from tunnels and attacked nearly every major metropolitan center in South Vietnam. They used guerilla tactics to make the attack unpredictable. -
My Lai Massacre
Soldiers were ordered to do a search and destroy on a village but ended up taking advantage of the situation past what they were ordered. 300 to 500 women and children were killed and their bodies were mutilated or taken advantage of after they were already dead. -
Pentagon Papers Printed in NY
The Pentagon Papers revealed high level deception of the public by the Johnson Administration. The papers were a top secret overview of history of our U.S. government involvement in Vietnam.
